Let’s take a look!

Kubota Zero Turn Mowers are renowned for their efficiency and precision and few do it better than the Kubota Z400 Series. Built from powerful 10 gauge steel, the Z400 Series fends off wear-and-tear and handles variable terrain with ease, extending the durability of your zero turn. Wide pneumatic casters and low-profile rear tires keep the Z400 Series’ center of gravity close to the ground, allowing increased confidence on slight grades and inclines. You also have six options available to choose from, with deck sizes ranging between 48” and 60”: the Z411KW-3-48, Z412KW-48, Z421KW-3-54, Z422KW-54, Z421KWT-3-60 and Z422KWT-60. But how does the Kubota Z400 Series’ durability compare with the ever-popular Cub Cadet ZT Series? The ZT Series brings 11 gauge steel, a slightly lower quality than Kubota’s 10 gauge, to all nine mowers in the series: the ZT1 42, ZT1 42E, ZT1 46, ZT1 50, ZT1 54, ZT2 50, ZT2 54, ZT2 60 and ZT3 60. You’ll also find that the ZT Series doesn’t offer a ROPS (Rollover Protection Structure) on any of its models, while Kubota features the safety system across the entire Z400 Series. Factor in Kubota’s commitment to operator comfort, ergonomically placed controls and deluxe suspension seat in the Z400 Series and we think it’s pretty clear to see which zero turn mower offers industry-leading durability and comfort.

But you’re here to talk power, aren’t you? Let’s get down to it! The Cub Cadet ZT Series brings Kohler and Kawasaki engines to the series, giving it a horsepower offering of 22 to 24 horsepower, reaching its max in the ZT3 60. So, how does it compare to the horsepower in the Kubota Z400 Series? The Z400 Series brings Kawasaki engines of its own into the mix, giving it the same horsepower range as the ZT Series, but the Z400 Series brings better blade rpm speeds and a deeper fuel tank, letting you work more efficiently and for longer. A top speed of 10 mph in the Z400 Series also lets you mow faster than the ZT Series’ 7.5 mph top speed and the Z400 Series even has a 1.5 - 5-inch cutting range, letting you exercise more control over your property than the Cub Cadet’s 1.5 - 4.5-inch range. The icing on the cake? Kubota’s extensive network of dealers means that you’ll have access to the best parts, repairs and customer service in the industry, no matter where you and your zero turn travel! That’s the Kubota difference.
