The ZT Series brings 11 gauge steel, a slightly lower quality than Kubota’s 10 gauge, to all nine mowers in the series: the ZT1 42, ZT1 42E, ZT1 46, ZT1 50, ZT1 54, ZT2 50, ZT2 54, ZT2 60 and ZT3 60. You’ll also find that the ZT Series doesn’t offer a ROPS (Rollover Protection Structure) on any of its models, while Kubota features the safety system across the entire Z400 Series. The Z400 Series brings Kawasaki engines of its own into the mix, giving it the same horsepower range as the ZT Series, but the Z400 Series brings better blade rpm speeds and a deeper fuel tank, letting you work more efficiently and for longer. A top speed of 10 mph in the Z400 Series also lets you mow faster than the ZT Series’ 7.5 mph top speed and the Z400 Series even has a 1.5 - 5-inch cutting range, letting you exercise more control over your property than the Cub Cadet’s 1.5 - 4.5-inch range.
