Are you trying to decide whether a Kubota zero-turn mower or a Bad Boy zero-turn mower is the better choice for you? At River Valley Tractor, we proudly stock Kubota zero-turn mowers because of their precision and durability, and we’d love to highlight some features that we believe set them apart from Bad Boy mowers. Let’s take a look at the Kubota Z400 Series and the Bad Boy Maverick Series and see which mower comes out on top!
At first glance, it’s hard to tell the difference between the two zero-turn mower series. They’re both orange, both have ROPS (Rollover Protection Structures), and both have wide operator stations. The confusion only continues with both the Kubota Z400 Series and the Bad Boy Maverick offering 48”, 54” and 60” mower deck sizes. Bad Boy boasts seven-gauge steel, while Kubota’s ten-gauge steel falls slightly short of Bad Boy’s rating. But the Bad Boy Maverick is wider than the Kubota Z400 Series, a full seven inches wider. That means you won’t be able to navigate your zero turn through fences and gates as easily as you would in the Z400 Series, potentially causing more of a headache and bringing your efficiency to a standstill. You’ll also find a deluxe suspension seat, ergonomically placed controls, and adjustable dual arm controls, all designed to keep you comfortable for years and years to come.
But you’re here to talk about the horsepower in the Kubota Z400 Series and the Bad Boy Maverick aren’t you? Let’s get down to it. The Kubota Z400 Series brings you a 22 to 24 horsepower range, courtesy of Kawasaki-built engines behind the seat. Bad Boy brings a selection of Kohler, Kawasaki and Honda engines of their own, allowing you to find the right mower for your needs between 22.5 and 25.5 horsepower. Despite the horsepower disparity between horsepower, the Kubota Z400 Series still puts up dominant blade speeds. You’ll also find greater control of your cutting height with the Kubota Z400 Series’ 1.5-inch to 5-inch cutting height, as opposed to the Bad Boy Maverick’s 1.5-inch to 4.5-inch cutting height. Factor in its higher top speed and deeper fuel tank and we think it’s clear to see the reliability, capability and comfort available in the Kubota Z400 Series. Don’t choose the wrong orange zero turn. Make the right decision with a Kubota Z400 Series from River Valley Tractor!
